- Are there problems in making a private conversation public?
- Encouraged Conversations follow strict protocols to make sure that the participants are fully aware of what is being asked. Their agreement is requiste at every stage of the process and they are asked to read and sign a recording agreement and copyright waiver. Once the recording is made, the participants are asked to give their approval, without which the recording cannot be made public. The participants can ask for the recording to be withdrawn at any point in the future.

- How do you record a Conversation?
- The Conversations are audio-recorded in a safe and private place for the participants so that everyone feels at ease and comfortable. The participants sit close together around the recorder with omni microphones. There are usually no more than four contributors and a recordist who operates the equipment and occasionally guides the discussion if need be. The recordist is usually out of sight so that the contributors can concentrate on each other. A typical conversation usually lasts about 40 – 45 minutes.

- Can I make my own Conversation?
- We would recommend that you get in touch to ask for advice on the process of making an Encouraged Conversation. This process is carefully designed to create an effective conversation and most importantly, to safe-guard the well-being and anonymity of the participants.
